Martell Cordon Bleu 750ml, the first of the great cognac houses, has an illustrious past. With an exquisite, rich, and flawlessly balanced beverage that combines leather and spice with chocolate and vanilla, The Cordon Bleu is proof that this brand is still a pioneer in its industry.

Who makes Cordon Bleu brandy?

Martell was established in 1715 by Jean Martell, and it has a history spanning more than three centuries. He toured the Cognac region in quest of the best Eaux-de-vie, developing ties with winemakers that have lasted for decades and contributed significantly to the brandy’s success and quality.

When Jean Martell passed away in 1753, his widow Rachel Lallemand took over management of the company. Rachel Lallemand built the business while adhering strictly to the principle of seeking “just the best, without artifice.

” In 1783, the firm started exporting to the young United States of America. By 1808, the cognac had gained such a following in England that King George III permitted imports of Martell throughout the blockade of the continent. In addition to making history, the Martell family has frequently contributed to it.

How is brandy called Cordon Bleu make?

For Martell, maintaining a healthy balance between history and innovation is the key to constantly producing brands of the highest caliber. Martell is the only one of the great cognac houses to employ only clear wines for distillation.

The Eaux-de-vie is moving to fine-grain oak barrels following distillation, as has historically been the practice at the distillery. The mild elegance of cognac pairs perfectly with the delicate and well-balanced flavors of fine-grained oak.

The oak is harvested from the Troncais forest, where trees are crammed so closely together that they receive insufficient sunlight, which inhibits their growth and results in wood with a rich texture. Bordeaux wines and wines made by renowned cooper and winemaker Dominique Laurent both employ francais barrels.
