On the palate, flavors of cream, sweet spices, white chocolate, cherries, dried fruit, and honey are present.

With its round balance, the clay-limestone soil of Grande Champagne exposes all its intricacies in this VSOP.

In fact, the cellars and a distillery that dates back to 1814 are situated on the banks of the Charente River, right where the barges that were delivering the expensive Eaux-de-vie and wines from upstream where were loaded along passes. Horses hauled these flat-bottomed barges along the river on these “Chemin des barriers” banks, which took into account the river’s narrow draft.
